A novel series of 5-(1-(Pyridin-3yl-carbonyl)-5-(substituted phenyl)-4,5-dihydro pyrazoline-3-yl)-2-mercaptobenzoxazole (9a-9e) and 5-(1-(Pyridin-3yl-carbonyl)-5-(substituted phenyl)-4,5-dihydro pyrazoline-3-yl)-2-mercaptobenzoxazole (10a-10e) were synthesized, characterized by IR, 1H-NMR, mass analysis and screened for their anti-microbial activity against some gram-positive, gram-negative bacteria and anti-tubercular activity against M. tuberculosis H37RV mycobacterium species with standard drugs. Biological screening results indicated that the synthesized compounds showed a broad spectrum of anti-microbial activity against the tested microorganisms at MIC (μg/ml) values between 100 and 3.25. While the screening results indicated moderate anti-tubercular activity at MIC (μg/ml) values between 25 and 3.25. Activities of series of compounds are found to be impressive for the gram-negative bacterial species.
